Welcome to Knot and Cast

Well, here we are – the first post. Always a little awkward, isn’t it? Like turning up to a party before anyone else and wondering if you’ve got the right house.

Knot and Cast is my corner of the internet where resin, eco resin, and crochet meet seasonal inspiration and a lot of “just one more ball of yarn” moments.

Who am I?

I’m married, mum to two teenagers, and servant to two cats — one who was swapped with a shark at birth, the other… well, let’s just say he’s not winning any IQ awards. After years of corporate life and motherhood taking centre stage, I wanted something that felt just mine again. Something creative, a little calming, and maybe a bit messy at times (have you ever poured resin with a cat around?).

What’s Knot and Cast all about?

Think slow-made homeware and gifts with a seasonal twist. Calm trays and coasters in soft muted tones. Cosy crochet cuties. Pieces that make you feel a little more “together” – even if you’re actually surrounded by laundry piles and half-finished cups of tea.

I’ll also be sharing my favourite tools, materials, and craft ideas here. Not to gatekeep (honestly, I’ve never been able to keep a secret stash of anything — biscuits, yarn, or otherwise), but to inspire. Some of these will be affiliate links to Etsy and Amazon, which help me keep this space going while recommending only the things I actually use and love.
